![]() It also felt like the only movie where there was a legitimate chance the heroes wouldn't win, they did a good job showing just how dire and hopeless the situation was. They did use that to their advantage to make the Horrocrux feel like an actual threat, like CoS and unlike DH2. 7/10ĭeathly Hallows - Part 1: Lacks truly memorable scenes and drags out a little too long. I wish they would have made them more threatening, even if the pacing would have suffered a little. I feel like the Horrocruxes were too easily destroyed, though. Quick-paced and never becomes boring, full of memorable scenes, with the most obvious ones being The Prince's Tale (the Pensieve scene) and the final battle. The worst thing about it is the wand retcon about changing allegiance by disarming. 8/10ĭeathly Hallows - Part 2: An overall satisfying conclusion to the series. As a side note, I'd like to mention that this is the movie where the CGI gets really good. The tension of the mystery was very palpable because of all the creepy things going on, unlike in HBP, where it's just tossed aside. IMO, the only Harry Potter flick which manages to actually do mystery somewhat well. 9/10Ĭhamber of Secrets: Doesn't have quite the same charm as the first one, but it still keeps some of it. The perfect way to introduce you to the Wizarding World. The score is just brilliant and so is the casting and chemistry not only between the trio, but between pretty much everyone. ![]() It's full of great memorable scenes and characters. May be a little too childish, but I think that's what gives it so much charm. Sorcerer's Stone: Timeless classic that will always get me teary-eyed. Who will ever forget the talk between Harry and Lupin on the bridge, the flight on Buckbeak, and IMO the best scene in the entire franchise: Harry's Expecto Patronum! 10/10 May not have as many memorable scenes as Sorcerer's Stone, but this is a case of quality over quantity. ![]() The cinematography is on-point and it makes even the dullest moments shine. Even though there is no Voldemort, the movie still feels tense all the way through with the threat of Sirius Black and the wonderfully done Dementors (why the fuck did they change their designs on OotP?). ![]() This movie is so nearly flawless that one of its only flaws is actually an effect it has on posterior movies (the Time-Turner). Prisoner of Azkaban: Perfect way to shift the saga to a darker tone. ![]()
